Partnership: A God Idea!

Partnership: A God Idea! In Genesis 1:26 God said Let us make man in our image after our likeness. This was a partnership of The Trinity: Father Son and Holy Ghost! This is the precedent! Adam and his Wife: God gave Adam a call, and in Genesis chapter 2 He brought forth Adams partner to help him; It was his wife! There are 5 different type of Partners in the New Testament I want to write about here:

1. Faith partners /Those who believe for the impossible

2. Partners who help and Protect

3. Financial Partners

4. Necessities Partners

5. Specialty Partners

Mary and Elizabeth: Faith Partnership

In The New Testament when Mary conceived The Word of God, which was Jesus, she was a young virgin girl. The enemy would have talked Mary out it if he could have. She had no evidence in the natural right away that this thing had happened. She needed a FAITH partner. The Lord told her, through the angel Gabriel, that her cousin Elizabeth had conceived in her old age and it was the sixth month with her! She immediately was led to go find Elisabeth in the hill country. Why? Because Elizabeth was well on in age, some say 70 to 80 years, and 6 months pregnant! She could believe with Mary. They had such a connection in FAITH partnership that when Mary walked in and saluted Elizabeth, John The Baptist leaped in her womb and Elisabeth was filled with The Holy Ghost and began to Prophesy! Elizabeth became Mary’s Partner in FAITH. Now, notice here there was a partner that we don’t have any record of being a financial partner, but a strong Faith Partner. Mary at this moment didn’t need a financial Partner, rather she needed someone strong in FAITH! Read Luke 1:38-55 and see how powerful Elisabeth and Mary’s FAITH was together. They were prophesying and praising. This was a powerful partnership of Faith! Mary stayed with Elisabeth for three months (or until all the natural signs were there that she was pregnant). Now no thought within her could take her promise from her! Once at home, another kind of partner was needed.

Joseph: Partner of Protection

Now the battle wasn’t from within Mary anymore, now it was going to come from without. The Battle Mary would have to fight now would be the attempt by the enemy to kill Jesus! For this battle God sent an angel to speak to Joseph, he would be her partner for this leg of the journey. Joseph was already Mary’s betrothed, he would be her partner for the Census trip, the stable, the whole process of raising Jesus. Joseph was with her from then on. He would hear God as to what to do to protect them.

The Wise men: Financial Partners

After Jesus was born, It was time for another part of Jesus’ call that He had to fulfill. The Bible says that He fulfilled all the law and The Prophets. Jesus had to fulfill the scripture, in Hosea 11:1 “Out of Egypt I have called my Son.” There needed to be different partners for this leg of the journey. These Partners had been on their way for almost two years: The Magi-The wise men! They were called to partner up Financially with Jesus. They brought Him Gold, Myrrh, and Frankincense, Joseph took Mary and Jesus to Egypt for a year and fulfilled the scripture that if Jesus hadn’t fulfilled, salvation could not have been complete. The wise men were warned by an angel in a dream to go home another way. They did and the Bible says that Herod was mocked! Partnership Mocks the devil!

This precedent was seen all through Jesus’ life and ministry.

Mary Magdalene, Joanna and Susana:

Partners of Necessity Luke 8: 1-5: 1 And it came to pass afterward, that he went throughout every city and village, preaching and shewing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God: and the twelve were with him,

2 And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils,

3 And Joanna the wife of Chuza Herod’s steward, and Susanna, and many others, which ministered unto him of their substance.

4 And when much people were gathered together, and were come to him out of every city, he spake by a parable:

5 A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it.

“Ministered to Him of their substance” means that they were servants and attendants! They came to him to be a servant domestically to supply food, necessities of life, and to relieve ones necessities by collecting alms. Substance means: possessions, goods, wealth, and property. These women followed Jesus’ ministry and helped every way they could by assisting Him in the ministry and giving their possessions, goods, wealth and property! In other words, these were His partners that had taken hold together with him in His ministry! Helping Jesus get done what he was called to do! Then in verses 4 and 5 the scripture says that “…much people gathered together and were come to Him out of every city, He spake to them by a Parable: A Sower went out to Sow.” This was no accident. His Partners sowing is spoken of, and then Him sowing The Word is spoken of! He was sowing the Word, and all of them were also by sowing to Him! They were Partners in Preaching The Gospel!

Joseph of Arimthaea, and Nicodemus’: Specialty Partners

Partnership continued even in Jesus’ Burial. There are Partners for every leg of The Call God has placed on ministries! Each Partner does a different thing, There are Faith Partners, Protection Partners, Financial Partners, Necessity Partnership, and here, Joseph of Arimthaea and Nicodemus were “Specialty Partners!” Each one has a unique place in the Fellowship. The only thing Jesus did not have partners in was his death! The scripture says He trod that winepress alone, Only His Father was with Him at one point. His other Partners helped Him all the way to get to this point and helped enable Him to get His mission done. But once He arrived at this place of death, He had to go alone. He even said “My Father, My Father why hast thou forsaken me?” He did this all alone. Partners have a unique position. Some of His necessity partners were at the crucifixion and the Tomb but they could not do anything. Jesus even had a partner with Him to take care of His mother! To fulfill the scripture to honor your Father and your mother, the promise for this was that you should live long on the earth! And guess what? The Apostle John out lived all the other Apostles. He partook of the anointing of long life as Jesus’ Partner for His mother Mary. Now as I said, there are different partnerships or we could say partnership roles. Watch this closely: In three accounts of Jesus being taken down from the cross and buried, there is a Specialty Partnership revealed to us.

Mark 15: 37 And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the ghost.

38 And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom.

39 And when the centurion, which stood over against him, saw that he so cried out, and gave up the ghost, he said, Truly this man was the Son of God.

40 There were also women looking on afar off: among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome;

41 (Who also, when he was in Galilee, followed him, and ministered unto him;) and many other women which came up with him unto Jerusalem.

42 And now when the even was come, because it was the preparation, that is, the day before the sabbath,

43 Joseph of Arimathaea, an honourable counsellor, which also waited for the kingdom of God, came, and went in boldly unto Pilate, and craved the body of Jesus.

44 And Pilate marvelled if he were already dead: and calling unto him the centurion, he asked him whether he had been any while dead.

45 And when he knew it of the centurion, he gave the body to Joseph.

46 And he bought fine linen, and took him down, and wrapped him in the linen, and laid him in a sepulchre which was hewn out of a rock, and rolled a stone unto the door of the sepulchre.

47 And Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses beheld where he was laid.

Lets look at St John’s account: John 19: 38 And after this Joseph of Arimathaea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, besought Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus: and Pilate gave him leave. He came therefore, and took the body of Jesus.

39 And there came also Nicodemus, which at the first came to Jesus by night, and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about an hundred pound weight.

40 Then took they the body of Jesus, and wound it in linen clothes with the spices, as the manner of the Jews is to bury.

41 Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden; and in the garden a new sepulchre, wherein was never man yet laid.

42 There laid they Jesus therefore because of the Jews’ preparation day; for the sepulchre was nigh at hand.

Now Matthews Account: Matthew 27:57-66, let’s read these passages.

57 When the even was come, there came a rich man of Arimathaea, named Joseph, who also himself was Jesus’ disciple:

58 He went to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be delivered.

59 And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,

60 And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre, and departed.

61 And there was Mary Magdalene, and the other Mary, sitting over against the sepulchre.

62 Now the next day, that followed the day of the preparation, the chief priests and Pharisees came together unto Pilate,

63 Saying, Sir, we remember that that deceiver said, while he was yet alive, After three days I will rise again.

64 Command therefore that the sepulchre be made sure until the third day, lest his disciples come by night, and steal him away, and say unto the people, He is risen from the dead: so the last error shall be worse than the first.

65 Pilate said unto them, Ye have a watch: go your way, make it as sure as ye can. 66 So they went, and made the sepulchre sure, sealing the stone, and setting a watch.

The burial of Jesus was a key part of His ministry-pointing to His resurrection. Reading these three accounts we learn some vital partner information:

  • We Learn That some of His necessity Partners were looking afar off. This was not their role. Two more Partners stepped up for this leg of the journey:

  • Joseph of Arimathaea – An honorable counsellor who went boldly to Pilate to ask for the body of Jesus! This Joseph was and honorable counsellor he had enough influence to go and do this! The perfect partner for the Job! Hallelujah! Glory To The Living God!

  •

  • Nicodemus – Who came to Jesus by Night. He also became Jesus’ Partner in His burial. Nicodemus bought the mixture of myrrh and aloes for the embalming, about an hundred pound weight!

  • Joseph and Nicodemus wrapped Jesus in it.

  •

  • Joseph gave Jesus his own Tomb.

  •

  • Joseph bought the Linen cloth to bury Him. Partnership! Praise God! Jesus died on His own, He went to Hell on His own, however He partnered with God and The Holy Ghost in His resurrection! Read Hebrews 1: 5-14!

  •

Partnership is vital in fulfilling the call of God on a Ministry! Lets look at what the Apostle Paul in writing to the church at Phillipi told them.

Philippians 1:7: “Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace.”

These were some of the Apostle Paul’s Partners in Ministry. Look at what he told them. He said he had them in his heart, as both in his bonds and the defence (Words, Teaching) and confirmation (Power, Miracles!) of the Gospel. Then He told them you are all partakers (They take part) of his grace!

What ever Grace he walked in, they had available to them also! He tells them in his bonds. They all knew about the anointing on him for bonds. This was the church at Philipi that started out of that Jail Ministry where Paul and Silas were loosed from their bonds! He is telling them, you have this anointing as well!

The anointing that was on Paul for the confirmation, the Works, the Power, and the Miracles of the Gospel was upon them also! In other words who ever you Partner with, you can call on the Grace on your Partner to come upon you! Our Partners! Only you know in your heart if you are called to be a Partner with us in Ministry.

If you are or if you feel you should be, pray about what area of Partnership you are called to be in!

Some of you have very special skill sets that you know you should use here with us! Some of you have been wondering “what is my place and call?” After reading this, you now know! We look forward to seeing you!

• Financial support like The Magi – Some are called to be strictly Financial Partners! You are called to support this ministry! You hear from God and you are obedient! Some of you have been asking who to give to and this letter just told you! The Magi were extremely vital after their visit we know that Joseph could take Mary and Joseph to Egypt! This could translate with the ministry of The Magi type Partnership we can go into different nations with Jesus!

• Necessities Partners – Some of you are called to take hold together with us in our call, Monthly weekly, and Daily. You are with us all the time! These are Partners that stay with us throughout the rest of the ministry Journey! These are Necessities Partners!

• Specialty Partners – Partners for a special thing. With Jesus it was His burial which was vital to the fulfillment of His call! These kind of Partners with us in this ministry are Partners That help us with things like Transportation, such as The airplane. Some may be called to pay the hangar fee’s monthly, or the annuals yearly, or the fuel or maybe the insurance! Automobiles, Vans, Trucks, These kind of things, are Specialty Partners!
